I gave a dealer in Virginia authorization to pay off my lien on July 20th. They are in possession of my car. Since then they have told me they sent the check to the financing company but the company has no record of anything processing nor any payments. The dealer has subsequently stopped responding to my messages and calls for the past week.
What are my rights? What should I do? I have a payment coming up that I’ll make to protect my credit but what sort of action can I take?
