Dealership wants me to pay in full for used car OOS but I can’t pick up for a month – is this normal?

I’m buying a used car out of state that I can safely pay in full for, and the dealership wants me to pay in full, but I won’t be able to pick up the car for a month. Is this normal? Or a smart thing to do?
