Four days ago, I purchased a car and agreed to GAP and Dent Protection. Although the dealership claimed the Dent Protection was required to complete the sale, my main sales contract explicitly lists both items as optional financed add-ons. The dealership is now asking me to return to the store and sign backdated policy forms for these optional protections. Since these coverages can usually be canceled within 30 days of purchase, will ignoring their request force them to remove the charges from my financing?
