If you want to dress up an engine, valve covers are a solid place to start. Too bad the options usually begin and end with chrome. Sixty years ago, GMC tried something very different. For reasons lost to time and General Motors’ corporate archives, the truck brand briefly offered plaid valve covers on its big-block V6s. If you’ve never seen these, don’t be surprised.
