I stopped by a a dealer in northern Virginia and looked at a new Civic Sport Touring Hybrid they had on the lot. It turned out to be sold. No big deal. I go to leave.
They say if we can get the number set, would you be interested if we can get one? I say sure and we agree on a price. I didn’t even negotiate because I thought their first proposal was fair. Two weeks later they say one is coming in and will be there in four weeks. Sounds good.
Car comes in and I go in and suddenly, just six weeks later, the price went up $1100 due to “market changes and inventory constraints.”
