How often do you lose sales to mechanics trying to make money?

Sold a 2022 Tundra with 70k miles recently. The customer had taken it to a Toyota dealer for a PPI. Mind you, we had just gotten the recall done so the new engine had around 2k miles on it. The PPI came back needing around $3k worth of engine work/maintenance. This customer luckily knew how to read a carfax but I’m sure some of my previous customers would’ve walked away from the deal over non existent issues.
