South Carolina, US. I bought a new car with the fancy screen dashboard. The dashboard unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. Apparently, the odometer is hardcoded to the unit so my new reading is a little over 800 miles short. The dealer mentioned this may cause issues but didn’t elaborate further. I plan on running the car into the ground (or at least give it to my kid in 10 years) but I’m curious what kind of issues this can cause?
