I’m self-employed with around a 650 credit score and I’m trying to finance a used car with $0 down. I provided bank statements and payment records showing my income, but the dealership says their lenders aren’t accepting what I provided as proof of income. I also filed taxes for 2025 and can provide my tax return. For anyone who’s self-employed and financed a car, what did the lender actually accept? Tax returns? Bank statements? 1099s? Did you have better luck with certain dealerships/lenders?
