Hello all, I will be trading in my Volkswagen soon to buy a new car. The VW is 13 years old, has some rust, a CEL and indicator light warning, and over 300,000km. I’m only expecting three-figures on the trade-in value. I have a set of new summer tires on decent-condition alloy wheels currently on the car. However, I also have a set of heavily-used winter tires on rusty steel wheels that I could swap on first. I think the summer tires on alloys could fetch a few hundred dollars on Marketplace if I sold them separately.
At this low of a trade-in valuation, does it make an real impact to the trade-in value of the car if I put the old rusty wheels on the car?
