I’ve been in this business for only 2 months now, so I can’t say whether this is atypical or not. Basically, we had a $40,000 Tahoe stolen 2 weeks ago. A “pregnant” woman and her kids gave us a fraudulent check right as bank hours were closing and my manager accepted it. They did $5,000 of damage before the police recovered it. Unfortunately, they weren’t caught yet. Yesterday, it almost happened again yesterday. I showed this older couple with 6 grandchildren a Tahoe, they loved everything about it, agreed to all the numbers without any negotiating, and told me their bank.
