I have a job offer at Kia to go straight into sales. I also have an interview for BMW to start as a genius and they did say “this a sales trainee role we see people go into sales as early as 6months typically no longer than a year”. I really want to get into car sales and see if I can make it and I know long term I would make more selling bmws. The thing is the bmw genius position is $18 an hour which would be a $5 an hour pay decrease than what I’m making now. My concern is that they are bs’ing me and I’ll get stuck as a genius with no opportunity to go into sales. Does anyone who work for bmw know how long it typically takes to get into sales being a genius or should I go with Kia if sales is what I genuinely want to do.
