Hoping to finally replace my beater, looking at 5th gen 4Runners currently. I have a 760 credit score and $5,000 for a down payment. From what I’ve read, I should get pre-approved somewhere before I go into a dealership? Additionally, I have a home equity loan with 6.5%APR I can pull up to $20,000 from to use as a down payment, if the interest on that is better than an auto loan. Does it sound like I’m on the right track, and is there any advice for finding a reputable dealership in a rural area?
